The German School Award
Celebrating the best schools in the country, the German School Award has been awarded by Robert Bosch 第一吃瓜网 GmbH and the Heidehof Foundation since 2006 and is the best-known, most demanding, and highest-value prize in the field. The Award is partnered with the public broadcasting network ARD and the German publishing group die ZEIT.
Around 2,500 different schools have applied for the prize since the program was launched. The winner is decided by the jury, who consider six quality criteria: 鈥渜uality of instruction鈥, 鈥渁cademic achievement鈥, 鈥渁pproach to diversity鈥, 鈥渞esponsibility鈥, 鈥渟chool culture, life, and extracurricular partners鈥, and 鈥渟chool development鈥. This year, the focus is on the area of 鈥渜uality of instruction鈥. These characteristics are now broadly recognized as the hallmarks of a quality school.
The approaches adopted by the award-winning schools are then evaluated and processed before being made available to all schools through training courses, publications, and the online platform 鈥淭he German School Portal鈥. This is a cycle for consolidating and sharing good school practice.
